Let your creativity reign!

I've really ventured back into my creativity by picking up my knitting once again. It's been many years and I've crafted just about anything you can imagine, but right now knitting is my craft of choice. I find that when I am away from my creativity for too long, I stagnate. It affects my thought process. When I allow my creativity an outlet, I flow so much better!

Right now I'm knitting a pair of socks. I have a sweater in process and just finished two beach bag/shopping bags that will be great when I'm off to Whole Foods.

Knitting, like weaving, is the act of creating connections. The weaver brings the warp & weft threads together to create a new fabric. Knitting creates a new fabric out of yarns. I find that the more I knit, the more easily I make connections mentally and emotionally so it is very therapeutic.

I often recommend this practice to clients when they are faced with indecision, hesitation, or are experiencing a sense of disconnection. It's like putting a puzzle together. Weaving, knitting, puzzles, they all work the same way. It's helps us bring things together, healing out healing process.

Think about this the next time you pick up your knitting needles or feel a need to put a puzzle together.
